Experience

2020-21: Go-to-market

As Founder: I recruited a cross-functional team and worked with investors and the executive team to embed a collaborative design culture and align working groups across UX research, technical development, front-end design and marketing.

As Chief Design Officer: I facilitated all-staff product roadmapping and team retrospective workshops; managed iterative 'double-diamond' design cycles including user research, requirements synthesis, testing/UAT, iterative backlog prioritisation and sprint planning with CTO based on agreed performance metrics.

2018-2021: Fundraising

Successfully pitched for £250,000 VC investment to build app Beta (2020); £350,000 follow-on investment (2021); £12,000 Creative Informatics Resident Entrepreneur funding to build minimum viable product (2019).

2019: User Research

Conducted secondary research incl. market analysis and flash demos to determine target user groups; primary user research (ethnographic interviews with musicians and other creators); synthesis of insights by co-design; creating personas (the data driven kind); validation of user needs via quantitative surveys.

2019: Event Design

Co-designed Creative Informatics Studio session about creative intellectual property; co-produced Creative Informatics Lab 'The Sound of Data' showcase (2019).

2013-2017: Early start-up journey

Selected to pitch to 500 investors at Informatics Ventures’ EiE17 investment convention at Edinburgh International Conference Centre (2017); wrote successful SMART Scotland innovation match-funding application for £83,000 (2016-17); gained Interface Innovation voucher funding for R&D into visualised networking, with Edinburgh Napier University (2014); company selected for Scottish Enterprise's High Growth Pipeline (2013).
